The Ministry of Police Affairs is the only Ministry charged with responsibility of overseeing the affairs of the Nigeria Police Force and officers and men of the Police Force. The Ministry is unique when compared to other Ministries on the basis of its statutory mandate as enshrined in section 5, 147 and 148 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria which include formulating policies and provide Administrative Support for the Ministry, the Police Council and the Nigeria Police.
